Water Tower ImageProject: WaterWorks is working with Cuyamaca, Palomar and other community colleges and industry partners to improve, increase and create even more water and wastewater treatment courses that map to industry certification and degree programs. Short term training courses are also being developed that specifically prepare new and tenured water professionals for statewide and national certifications.

Internships

The San Diego County Water Authority is our major partner in providing water industry internships. The SDCWA internship program is currently 33 weeks long, and offered once per year. Participants work 20 hours per week minimum at a wage of $10.00 per hour. Applications are accepted and reviewed between February and May. From May to August final applicants are screened. Screening includes background checks and drug testing.

We're also working with the City of San Diego, Padre Dam and Helix Water District to streamline and communicate additional internship opportunities for students.
